Trust Loose Ring Bradoon Sweet Iron

This Trust underlay water snaffle is always used in combination with a dressage curb bit. It is a combination of two different bits that lie in the horse's mouth simultaneously. This type of bit is primarily used in advanced dressage and is intended for the most experienced riders. The rings of the underlay snaffle are smaller, allowing enough space for the curb bit’s action. A special bridle with a double cheek piece is required for use with a curb and snaffle. This underlay snaffle features a single-jointed mouthpiece, providing more room for the horse’s tongue compared to a double-jointed mouthpiece. The single-jointed mouthpiece primarily acts on the bars and the sides of the tongue.

The water snaffle is a versatile bit that can be used by both experienced and novice riders. It is available in both single and double-jointed versions and in various thicknesses. The thinner the bit, the sharper the action, meaning that both the horse and rider need to have more experience to ride effectively with this bit.

Trust Sweet Iron Bits:

Sweet Iron reacts to humidity (air) and develops surface rust that has a sweet taste, naturally stimulating the horse’s salivation. This promotes foaming in the mouth, leading to better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) causes the blue color of TRUST bits to change to a brownish-grey hue. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used for a period of time, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
